Metal grommets

Brass or steel rings punched through hemmed edges, typically every 2–3 feet. Best default for fences, walls, and temporary outdoor hangs. Included free on standard vinyl.

Hemmed edges

Material folded and welded/sewn along the perimeter so grommets do not tear out. Standard finishing on quality vinyl — do not skip hems on outdoor banners.

Pole pockets

A sewn tunnel along top and/or bottom for poles or pipe-and-drape. Ideal for booths, stages, and indoor frames where you want a clean, taut hang without visible grommets.

Wind slits

Small cuts or reinforced vents that let air pass through solid vinyl. Useful on large outdoor banners in moderate wind when mesh is not required.
